Your Visit
Practical information to help you prepare for your appointment.
Your consultation
At your first appointment, we’ll discuss your symptoms, medical history, previous investigations and treatments. I’ll perform a neurological examination where appropriate and explain my assessment, including whether further tests may be helpful.
We’ll discuss treatment options and agree on the next steps together. Follow-up appointments give us an opportunity to review your progress and adjust the plan.
Preparing for your visit
Please bring your referral, medication list and relevant reports or imaging. For headache appointments, a headache diary can be useful.
When requesting an appointment, please email a copy of your referral to your chosen practice using the contact details on the home page. This helps us arrange the most appropriate appointment for you.
Telehealth
I offer telehealth consultations for patients across Australia where clinically appropriate. Some concerns require an in-person assessment, which we can discuss when arranging your appointment.
Urgent appointments
I welcome requests for urgent review and make room for patients with urgent concerns wherever possible. Please contact the rooms directly to discuss an urgent appointment.
For a medical emergency, call 000.
What to expect: nerve conduction studies and EMG
These tests help assess how your nerves and muscles are working.
During the tests
Nerve conduction studies use electrodes on the skin and brief electrical pulses to measure nerve responses. You may feel tapping or tingling, which can be uncomfortable.
EMG may also be needed. A fine, single-use needle records electrical activity in selected muscles. This may cause some discomfort or minor bruising.
How to prepare
Wear loose clothing so your arms and legs can be accessed. Do not apply skin creams or moisturiser on the day.
You can usually eat, drink and take your medicines as normal unless you have been given specific instructions. Do not stop medicines yourself.
Tell the clinic beforehand if you take blood thinners, have a bleeding disorder, or have a pacemaker or implanted defibrillator.
Afterwards
You can usually return to your usual activities afterwards. Please tell the clinician if you are uncomfortable or have any questions.

Less than 48 hours’ notice: $250 cancellation fee.
Same-day cancellation or non-attendance: full consultation fee charged.

I aim to be available for all my patients. When an appointment is missed, another patient loses the opportunity to be seen.
